Chompthreads: Scout

Scout, the artist behind chompthreads, is known for creating fandom-inspired decals, stickers, badges, and auto accessories. She’s also the co-founder of MAW_events, continuing the legacy of her late partner Rolix by hosting Raves, Car Meets, and Art Markets in Los Angeles. Through her art and events, Scout creates a safe and welcoming space for the furry community while supporting new and experienced Artists and DJs, helping them grow, connect, and share their passions.

Scribbles Art Collective: IV

Bri, or IV as she is sometimes called in the community, is an illustrator, naturalist, and science communicator. She works primarily with nonprofits in the arts and conservation, alone or through her shared art studio. An unrepentant nerd, Bri spends a whole lot of time reading, roleplaying, studying, and processing the occasional piece of roadkill into pretty bones. She’s been making art for the fur community for 15 years and continues to do so today, finding the fur community to be, by and large, a kind, welcoming, and fun bunch of folk.

Scribbles Art Collective: Jacob

It’s a Pleasure to meet you, my name is Jacob Sweet. I am a southern California born native of the Mojave desert with it’s intense temperature fluxes and cold golden dawns. I was raised by carpenters, medical professionals, and those who know that developing your mind is a life long, and worthy pursuit. I have been a multitude of professions, but I am most interested in being a visual story teller; this means being an avid draftsman, and thinker. I love to learn everyday about my people, planet, and universe, both macro and micro. how amazing is it that we humans are even here at all? Fully capable to understand, and mold our world into a better place than how we came into it.

This starts with vision, I believe I am always cultivating my own personal vision in order to share it with the world. as many prophets of science fiction and literature have done before me, who have influenced those far more capable of making dreams both a reality and functional. Myself being an avid observer, bucolic, and naturalist, studying my natural and social world around me to synthesize into new worlds is my dream profession. Certainly because everyday will bring new discoveries, experiences, and most of all knowledge and skill to gain. I enjoy professions where you are always being pushed to grow, which in turn makes you more than a simple one trick pony, but a diverse and unique individual to stand apart in our growing culture of pure emulation. So using my profession to always be in pursuit of forging myself further, and leveraging my knowledge to develop new stories and visuals is the clearest goal I can conceive
for myself.

Scribbles Art Collective: OnionCakes

OnionCakes is the Fandom name for the works of Carissa Elaine and her fursona’s namesake. She is a SoCal native who has been drawing furry and animal themed art her whole life. Onion attended art school in the Inland Empire, where she met her fellow Scribbles companions and her now husband, and later got her MFA in San Francisco (That’s right, she’s MASTER Onion!).

Her artwork is a weird mix of realism, cat paintings and animation. With lots and lots of rainbows! Her main series is Disappear, and features many extinct and endangered animals from contemporary species to prehistoric ones. In 2024 she was diagnosed with cancer and is currently in recovery from treatment, and many of her big projects are still on hold, but she’s back at conventions and doing her best!

Scribbles Art Collective: Story

A jack of all trades, Kamren worked largely as a 3d-modeler and animator, but also, a bartender. He’s previously marketed for organic hotel soap amenities before jumping into illustration full-time and never looked back.

A lifelong learner, he’s drawn to science and technology. His caffeine addiction helps get him through long, deep dives into random topics and a myriad of hobbies. This includes being the resident Game Master when dice must roll, or learning the art of combat at the local SCA chapter. Most of all, he is enamored with different forms of storytelling and narrative.

After a decade of freelance art, he’s only just begun to dabble in fursuit making, with his first creation, Rye the goat! He’s found joy diving deeper into the fur community, a very welcoming and amazing place bustling with creativity!
